I have had a lifelong dream of writing books. I started writing stories when I was in elementary school in Palmer Park, Maryland. Only when I deployed to Iraq in 2008 was I able to bring this dream full circle. I spent time in the Al-Anbar region of the country. I was stationed in Fallujah for a couple of months and then spent a year on the Syrian border in the town of Waleed. It was one of the most memorable experiences of my life, and it provided me the time to write this awesome novel, "18th & M".
I am currently in Afghanistan working with an Afghan National Police unit consisting of undercover agents who are working to identify and neutralize insurgent networks. The primary focus is to overcome IEDs before they can kill. However the mission is much broader than that. The team works with a vast network of confidential informants, and that is about all I can tell you at this point.
When I leave here I hope to continue working to help make this world a safer place for everyone. My goal is to leave this planet in better shape than when I found it.
God is truly good.
